About
Prepare yourself for the difficult conversations you are anticipating these holidays and enjoy better communication and connections.
You do not need to settle for not getting along or being treated in ways you don't enjoy. You can learn to speak up with firmness yet care, setting boundaries that are connected to your needs. You can learn the basics of what creates connection and what tends to create disconnection and foster more understanding and closeness.
You can choose to do something different this holiday, and hope for better results. Prepare those conversations and tricky dynamics. The gift is increased resilience and renewed connections.
Take this questionnaire to give some thought to what is blocking you from having a better experience than you want.
Dates and location:
This workshop will happen twice (same content). On each date there is a special event at the venue, the Open Market:
* Nov 28th (Vegan market day) and
* Dec 12th (Christmas market day)
Times: 9:00 am to 13:00 pm.
Aims
This practical, experiential workshop will help you integrate some Nonviolent Communication key tools to help you:
Increase your resilience to difficult-to-hear messages
Decrease your trigger threshold
Express yourself both authentically and compassionately
Learn how to defuse judgements and not take things personally
Who is this for?
For anyone who wants to improve their relationship and conversations with their friends and family over the holidays.
No background in Nonviolent Communication required.
This is a practice-based workshop in which I will demo and coach participants in real life situations. I will weave in elements of NVC when they are pertinent as we work through real examples.
If you have been practicing NVC for a little while, we will be looking at how to speak normally while maintaining the core principles of NVC alive in us.
Note that this is not a methodical NVC introduction, though we will be working with the core elements of NVC.
Content
This is a very practical workshop. I will present the core keys that help create connection and avoid disconnection in conversations.
We will work through real examples from participants and practice different ways of speaking more clearly and truthfully, as well as listening in a new way that does not throw us off balance as much. Learn to come back to your centre.
Skill 1: Listening inward: ME
Listening to ourselves and learning what matters to you, quicker and quicker in a difficult moment or situation. This is the basis of emotional regulation and coming back to balance.
Skill 2: Listening outward: THEM
Truly be there and listen empathically to others. This reduces emotional intensity in others as they feel they are understood and that they matter.
There is a way to hear any message, no matter how aggressive or pointed, and have it not throw you off nor hurt you.
Skill 3: Speaking your truth with care
Tips and practice around being really honest while expressing your truth in a way that is responsible and caring for others. Make the connection with every word you say and every word you choose not to say.

Testimonials
Nati Beltrán crafts her interactive communication training sessions with the flow of artistry and the precision of science. I was engaged and inspired through every minute. I learned more about scary honesty and true honesty that draws people closer together, instead of apart, than any other Nonviolent Communication or any communication course I have ever experienced. Her practical tips and learning on the body, mental and emotional levels all made it easy for me to remember and immediately apply what I learned to my priority relationships. And it worked! Nati is a gifted teacher of communication that connects! I recommend wholeheartedly to grab the chance to have her as a teacher or coach.

I want to thank you for your wonderful teaching!
I'm noticing breakthroughs when I use NVC tools in conversations where I'm able to stay connected and present in difficult situations. Staying centred with self- compassion is helping me lean into the other person's feelings (without taking responsibility for them) and needs. I've been able to ask for someone's truth that was difficult for them to express, giving them a safe place with no judgment to do that. I could also listen to his truth that was difficult for me to hear by giving myself the compassion I needed in the space of one breath.
Thanks again for your wonderful gift.
